This kit is part of the London Plane Tree series in a natural satin finish. This particular wood species is a relative of the maple and sycamore species. But it has its own unique characteristics. It’s a quite a bit softer than maple and therefore sounds really warm, but still with a very strong attack and punch. Attack is similar to the characteristics of a metal shell. It also has a beautiful natural grain as shown in the pictures. I can provide sound samples when requested.
